Gilbert Mayor John Lewis will recognize the importance of art in the community at the third annual “Mayor’s Breakfast for the Arts” at 7 a.m., Thursday at the Higley Center for the Performing Arts.
This year, the theme of the mayor’s keynote speech is “Connecting Arts to the Community: Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead,” an abbreviation for “science, technology, engineering, arts and math,” according to a press release.
School leaders from Gilbert and Higley will join Lewis, along with businesses and organizations in a show of support for the arts.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and can be purchased online at www.higleyarts.com.
