Students at Gilbert’s Williams Field High School are ready to donate to Mesa’s United Food Bank again this year. Last year, the Black Hawks received an award for donating the most food in a single donation during the 2011 Stuff the Bus campaign.

Students will compete against each other in an effort to fill a school bus with donated food supplies. Last year the Black Hawks set a goal to collect 5,000 lbs. of food, and nearly doubled that. United Food Bank reported that 7,000 families were fed by the Williams Field donation, according to a press release.

This year, the students hope to collect 10,000 lbs. The drive runs through Nov. 15. Community members may make donations in the school’s office, 2076 S. Higley Road.
