Rob Fergus, a senior scientist in the urban bird conservation division of the National Audubon Society, will discuss “Global Warming and Common Birds in Decline,” at the Desert Rivers Audubon Chapter meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Southeast Regional Library, 775 N. Greenfield Road, Gilbert.

Fergus will help launch the new Arizona Audubon at Home program, which asks people to take a pledge to create a healthier environment to sustain birds and other wildlife.

The program is free. For information, visit www.desertriversaudubon.org.

The chapter also hosts free monthly programs for children ages 7 to 13 to help foster interest in birding and nature.

Sessions are 7 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month through April.
