Gilbert became one of the Valley’s restaurant hot spots in 2013, as a number of new places opened or established restaurants added additional locations.
American TapHouse was among them. With burgers, beer and pizza, a full bar and all the TVs of a typical sports bar, American TapHouse had to distinguish itself.
Management came up with beer and wine delivery.
If you’re within three miles of the restaurant at 1026 S. Gilbert Road in the Gilbert Town Square district, American TapHouse will deliver during regular business hours.
The service started Monday.
“People are excited about it; we’re expecting it to be pretty successful for us,” said Mike King, American TapHouse general manager.
Customers can get a 64-ounce growler (or refill) of any of the 24 beers on tap and/or bottled wine delivered with or without a take-out food order. There is not an order limit.
American TapHouse, which opened last month and had its grand opening last week, is the first restaurant in the Southeast Valley and the fourth in the state to receive the special liquor license to deliver.
Depending on demand, the delivery range could widen in the future, King said.
“We started small on purpose. We don’t want to be bombarded with demand right away to the point we can’t handle it,” King said. “But we’d love for there to be the demand for us to expand the delivery area down the road.”
American TapHouse, of course, also welcomes dine-in guests to its 4,800-square-foot restaurant and offers happy hour (3:30-6:30 p.m.), reverse happy hour (9 p.m.-close), kids eat free (Wednesdays and Saturday evenings) and a ladies-night deal on Thursdays. A DJ plays the latest county music on Friday nights.
“We’re not your typical bar,” assistant general manager Tony Bonanducci said. “We have a full bar with all the TVs, but we’re more family-friendly than the typical sports bar.”
