Our Sonoran Desert is the most biologically diverse of North America’s deserts, and you can learn all about its flora, fauna and archaeology on Tuesday, Jan. 10 in downtown Gilbert.

The Desert Rivers Audubon is hosting an event where visitors can find out more about the desert, the threats it faces and more.

The event features Thom Hulen, director of the Friends of the Sonoran Desert Monument and former manager of the Desert Botanical Garden’s Desert House conservation demonstration.

At the event, you can also learn about volunteering, including at Gilbert’s burrowing owl habitat and hummingbird habitat.

The event is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gilbert Community Center, 130 N. Oak St.
