“Gilbert Gets Out,” a coordinated effort between the Town of Gilbert and its residents to encourage locals to experience all their hometown has to offer, began earlier this week and continues through Friday.
An Earth Day celebration is among the half-dozen activities scheduled for Today at McQueen Park from 10 a.m. to noon. Thursday’s schedule of seven events include Family Bingo at Freestone Recreation Center from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., or a Mad Science Show at the Southeast Regional Library from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday’s slate includes observatory night at the Riparian Reserve at 7 p.m., and “Rockin’ The Rec” – the weeklong series’ grand finale, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Freestone. The finale includes a rock wall challenge and other activities from for the first hour, and a concert on the lawn featuring Vinyl’s End from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
