A Gilbert-based aggregate firm that runs plants in several counties has paid nearly $100,000 to settle allegations that it violated air quality rules.
Southwest Rock Products had air violations at plants in Apache, Cochise, Maricopa, Mohave and Navajo counties between 2006 until 2009. They included excessive dust emissions and running plants without proper permits.
The company worked with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to address the problems and its facilities have complied with regulations since September 2009.
The company and its subsidiaries own and operate 12 portable facilities throughout the state, including rock crushing plants and cement batch plants.
