"Starfish Prime" from Chandler’s Basha Accelerated Middle School won the 14th annual Honeywell Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge on Saturday at the Challenger Space Center Arizona in Peoria.
The students competed against five other teams in the finals that were selected from nearly 200 teams statewide. In the competition, students had to research and create a moon station that would harvest materials from moon rock and provide a vacation destination.
As the winners of the Aerospace Challenge, "Starfish Prime" will travel to Houston, Texas for a tour of the Johnson Space Center and be recognized on the field at the 2014 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.
