Boulder Creek teacher up for honor

Kristine Moore, a Title 1 and reading specialist at Gilbert Unified School District’s Boulder Creek Elementary School, is one of 10 finalists for the 2012 Teacher of the Year award given by the Arizona Educational Foundation. Moore has been with the Gilbert district since 2002.

The Teacher of the Year receives a $20,000 cash award, a host of other prizes and opportunities, and the chance to meet President Barack Obama. Finalists were notified at the end of September, and the winner is chosen in November.
