Jamie Mones, a freshman nursing student from Saudi Arabia, said that if Grand Canyon University had raised tuition for next year it might have been difficult for her to continue to attend the school.
By keeping tuition low, Brian Mueller, Grand Canyon University’s CEO, said he hopes to tap into the population of students who would normally leave the state to attend a public or private university.

University of Phoenix and GCU are also two shining examples of massive irregularities in recruitment practices, so all isn't exactly "perfect" in private education land.
The point is that there is not just one answer to how institutions of higher learning (IHL) continue to evolve and that there are several answers because students (customers) have different needs and demands upon the educational system.
And as can be seen from the public "rant" above, there isn't much in the way of real solutions either.

Now this is encouraging...Privatize all AZ's State-subsidized Universities because they are NOT NEEDED in these times to provide college students a college education to find NON-EXISTENT JOBS. College tuition, operating expenses & brick_&_mortor maintenance expenses are not needed & can be luxuries the state of AZ can eliminate to cut the $1 BILLION+ budget deficit last FY & this FY Grand Canyon College & University of Phoenix are two examples of the value of privatizing College Educations...along with Charter Schools in AZ. This is the 21st Century Hi_Tech INTERNET age, people, & if Mesa Community College can offer 329 online INTERNET-based college courses in a virtual classroom to thousands of college students, costly, educational, brick_&_mortar dinosaurs like ASU, UofA & NAU + the entire failed AZ Board of Regents should go the way of the "DoDo" bird...EXTINCTION.
