Students from Mesa's Hale Elementary School donned commemorative shirts and Ping golf hats when they stepped off the bus at Scottsdale's TPC Champions Golf Course, home of the Waste Management Phoenix Open during "Dream Day."

The event featured Joey O, an acrobatic golf comedian and motivational speaker who talks to kids about how hard work can help make even impossible dreams possible.

Students at Hale participate in the First Tee golf curriculum which teaches life skills, sportsmanship and respect, through golf. Mesa's Elementary Physical Education Department offers golf in kindergarten through sixth grade, thanks to $140,000 worth of equipment donated by The First Tee.
