Students across the state are heading back to school, and so are the crossing guards. To recognize them, AAA Arizona has begun accepting nominations for its fourth annual crossing guard of the year award.
School administrators, staff, parents, students and community members are invited to share why they believe their candidate deserves crossing guard of the year designation. Nomination forms can be downloaded online. Completed forms can be mailed to AAA Arizona, Attn: Public Affairs, 3144 N. 7th Ave., Phoenix, AZ., 85013, faxed to (602) 776-0466, or emailed to publicrelations@arizona.aaa.com.
Nominations must be submitted by March 9 and winners will be announced on Crossing Guard Appreciation Day, April 27. Winning guards will receive a $100 Target gift card and a plaque.
