Mesa Unified School District's six high schools have 26 seniors qualified as National Merit Semifinalists.

The students scored among the top one-half percent of the state on the PSAT or National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

In order to become finalists and qualify for scholarships, the semifinalists must fill out an application, receive a letter of recommendation from their counselor and write an essay.

National Merit Scholarship 2011 winners will be announced in four news releases from April to July.
