Student artwork will be showcased during the fourth annual Gilbert Artfest in downtown's Heritage District.

The event will be held 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 1 along both sides of Gilbert Road, north of Elliot Road, between Cullumber and Vaughn avenues.

It is hosted by Gilbert High School with student art displays along Water Tower Plaza, musical and comedy groups, Art Intersection's “Emerge Show” opening and an interactive art studio in the American Legion Park in conjunction with the unveiling of the American Legion mural. A silent auction will be held on the Postino East lawn to raise funds for summer art scholarships and poetry readings will take place at Bergie’s Coffeehouse.

For more information, contact event organizer Shalei Webb, Visual Arts Department Head, Gilbert High School, at (480) 773-8143.
