New learning tool available
for students
The Arizona Department of Education announced lastweek a new resource for students, teachers and parents designed to help students improve their academic achievement. In partnership with Pearson, the company that provides AIMS test scoring and reporting services to Arizona’s schools, the education department is making the Perspective Learning Locator tool available to match each student’s individual needs to a specific set of learning materials.
“We are so pleased to have worked together with Pearson to make the Perspective Learning Locator tool available to our students,” said Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal. Chandler-based Pearson is providing Perspective as part of the AIMS program at no additional cost.

Learning tools? The only learning tools kids need are a good book. Well the ability to read it might help. Well, maybe an adult at home to help the kid.

What a crock! If the school system administrators and the teaching staff have to have help from a second party in directing the kids to the proper materials for learning, then the system has failed miserably. This is just another way to make money off the current crop of parents.
Will it help kids get jobs, or will it help push unprepared kids into the street?
They wouldn't do it if there wasn't money to be made!

Would someone please point out to me where there is a "constitutional directive" to provide an education.? This is a community(local) issue, based on whether those involved wish to use their taxes for such a purpose.
