The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights is investigating allegations of civil rights violations at Central Arizona College.

The complaint, filed by CAC employee Christopher Braybrooks, alleges that the college discriminated on the basis of disability and national origin. The OCR will investigate the matter and determine if a solution can be found. If a solution is not found, the college could potentially stop receiving federal funds and could be referred to the Department of Justice.

A similar complaint of discrimination on the basis of national origin was filed against Maricopa County Community College District last month.
