The Higley Unified School District will host a “middle school transition” forum 5:45 p.m. Jan. 10 in the district office, 2935 S. Recker Road, Gilbert.
Beginning with the 2013-2014 school year, the Higley district will go from having K-8 elementary schools to having K-6 elementary schools and seventh- through eighth-grade middle schools. Two middle school campuses are currently under construction in the district by an outside group. The district has entered a lease-to-own agreement for the campuses, one to be named Cooley Middle School and one to be located in the Sossaman Estates.
During the week of Jan. 14, registration for the middle schools will be held at the feeder campuses.
