The student staff at Tempe's Bethany Christian School recently learned it won the “best overall” award for its 2011-2012 school yearbook at the Association of Christian Schools International yearbook competition.
The students started the yearbook in September, putting in extra hours after school, according to Trish King, the yearbook staff liaison.
“The unique part about last year’s students was that I had only two students with any previous yearbook experience. The rest were new to the process and the software, which can be difficult to learn,” said King.
"The students were extremely hands-on through the entire process choosing pictures, designing page layouts, writing copy and creating the cover art," the release states.
