The Gilbert Unified School District governing board will hold a special meeting 7:45 p.m. Wednesday to select an interim superintendent.

The meeting will be held at 140 S. Gilbert Road. An executive session will be called first, with the special board meeting to follow.

Last week, the board started interviewing four finalists for the interim position to oversee the district while it finds a permanent replacement for Dave Allison, who announced his plans to retire in January.

Allison's last day was to be June 30, but the board asked him to stay in place two more weeks while an interim superintendent was hired.

The four finalists for the interim position are Tony Apostle, James Rice, Virginia Moon and John Keegan.
