Schools around Gilbert Unified School District will celebrate Jan. 22 when the district marks the 100th day of its 100th year.
The district was established in the area in 1913 after the public requested education that would not require them to travel to Mesa, according to a news release. From one elementary school then to Gilbert High School in 1920 to its 41 schools now, it has grown. There are now more than 39,000 students on the campuses in Mesa and Gilbert.
Schools will make cakes, host assemblies, and create timelines and displays to celebrate on Jan. 22.
