The Arizona Museum for Youth Friends is asking the community to match a donation of up to $20,000 from the museum's founder, John Whitman, and his wife Dee Whiteman.
With underfunded arts education in public schools, AMY provides critical art-based experiences that children may not receive elsewhere. AMY is banking on the notion that when when community contributions are pooled together they can make a collective impact.
In this case, that means making it possible for the Arizona Museum for Youth to continue providing essential hands-on art experiences which foster creativity, imagination, and the critical thinking skills of children, our nation's future workforce.
The funds must be raised by March 31 to meet the matching challenge.
