Students from Compadre-North's Jr. Interact group and other Tempe Union High School District schools gave their time to assist in restoring a home last month in partnership with Tempe South Rotary and Homeward Bound, a transitional housing program for homeless and domestic violence families.

Volunteers whitened walls, painted fences, and planted flowers to brighten up a home. Jessica Reel, one of the students, said, "Although we were out there working hard it was worth every minute; from the accidental paint in people's hair, the pure determination of Jr. Interact members and Rotarians, to the undeniable gratification that we left with after working on the property."
