Mesa Community College will host a screening of the 2009 education film “Race to Nowhere” and hold a community discussion 6 p.m. Tuesday. The event is free, but tickets are limited.
“Race to Nowhere” started as a parent movement, but has grown nationwide. It features the stories of children who, “have been pushed to the brink by over-scheduling, over-testing and the relentless pressure to achieve.”
The film has been screened in more than 5,000 cities and towns in more than 30 countries. It will be shown at the Paul Elsner Library at Mesa Community College. Seating is limited to 200. To reserve a seat, go to http://www.racetonowhere.com/epostcard/6577.
