Mesa Unified School District's Title I program won the 2011 Partnership District Award from the National Network of Partnership Schools at Johns Hopkins University. The network helps districts develop and share best practices that nurture parent involvement to boost student achievement.

Mesa's award was based on the Title I Department's role in helping school-based teams promote family-friendly school climates, professional development and leadership activities, communication and teamwork.

Title I schools are those with a high number of low-income families.
