Students from Chandler's Basha High School competed this summer at the National Math Convention in July. Also known as the Mu Alpha Theta National Convention, the organization gives schools a way to recognize and encourage those students who enjoy and excel in mathematics. More than 650 students attended from high schools and two-year colleges.

Senior David Li placed eighth in sequences and series, fifth in mu calculus and first in computer science. Tyler Pinho, a recent Basha High graduate, placed 10th over all in the Chalk Talk and Logan Mahan.

A group of students - seniors David Li and Connor Schmitt and juniors Samantha Bouchal and Sebastian Scouras, placed third in the "state bowl," team competition.
