Students from the Gilbert High School Tiger Marching Pride, who were invited to participate in the National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. July 4, are hosting their last fundraisers Saturday, June 16.

Three car washes will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Valero at Guadalupe Road and Val Vista Drive, Auto Zone at Guadalupe and Gilbert roads, and at the Mardi Gras Shaved Ice in downtown Gilbert, 325 N. Gilbert Road.

The students are also offering to take pictures, letters or mementos to the Vietnam Memorial Wall for community members during their visit. They are also willing to make pencil rubbings of loved ones' names on the Wall, as part of their appreciation for the opportunity to make the trip.

For additional information about the memorial, drop by one of the car washes or contact the booster representative, Holly Thorn, at thornh@Q.com.

The students have sold candles and butter braids, held numerous car washes and worked at Country Thunder and ASU games to help pay the travel expenses.
