Nisreen Samer Shiban is valedictorian for Chandler's Hamilton High School's Class of 2013.

A little about the student:

I was born and raised in Syria and Qatar for twelve years. I have lived in the United States for six years.

I have a GPA of 4.94. I am a National Merit Finalist and a National AP Scholar as well as an AP Scholar with Distinction (this one since sophomore year). I was a Flinn Scholarship Finalist (although not a designee). I am an IMPACT Scholar, and I received the Denny's at Dobson & Chandler Achievement Scholarship. I am a member of National Honor Society and president of Science Olympiad. I have participated in Speech and Debate and Spanish, French, and German Clubs.

I am a black belt in traditional Tae Kwon Do and I play the flute. I speak Arabic and Spanish and I am learning French and German (taking the AP test for the latter three this year).

I will be attending Harvard University and was accepted to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, University of California (Berkeley), Georgia Institute of Technology, Arizona State University, and University of Arizona. I am going to be a premed major most likely concentrating in the sciences/engineering and economics.
