Arizona State University is partnering with City University of Hong Kong to further develop flexible electronic systems.
The agreement was signed earlier this month and will mean the two universities will work together to create a technology with diverse uses. For example, the technology could be sewn onto a soldier's uniform, allowing them to receive real-time maps or mission briefs. It could also be used to improve anything from e-readers to conference systems.
"This exciting collaboration allows our universities to leverage one another's expertise and industry links, and provide our students with a valuable global research experience," said ASU President Michael M. Crow.
ASU has already been working with the United States Army since 2004 in a cooperative effort to accelerate the commercialization of flexible, lightweight, low-power electronics technology.
