Gilbert Unified School District and Grand Canyon University have signed an agreement to make the district one of the university's “Partners in Learning, Leading and Serving.” There are 74 districts in this program in the state.
The program provides a tuition discount, which makes it easier for teachers to earn Continuing Education credit or pursue master’s degrees
Last year, nearly 30 Arizona teachers earned their master's degrees in early childhood education through the program.
Schools can also use the university's College of Education Speakers Bureau. Speakers can come to schools and address a group of teachers on a particular topic, which helps them meet Continuing Education requirements.
