Mesa police arrested a man early Friday morning following several reports of break-ins from car and homeowners.

At about 1 a.m., officers responded to 543 N. Bailey where a woman reported a man going through her car. While on scene, officers heard a car alarm on a neighboring street. During that investigation, another victim called in to say a man had entered her home through a back door. She confronted him and he ran out. A police air unit responded and found the suspect, Jonathan Lorenz, sitting on the back patio of a nearby home. A handgun was found on top of an air-conditioning unit in the backyard where Lorenz was taken into custody.

The first victim identified Lorenz as the suspect in her vehicle. Additional burglaries were reported in the neighborhood.

Lorenz was booked on suspicion of two counts of burglary in the third degree, two counts of criminal trespass in the first degree, one count of possession of burglary tools and one count of prohibited possessor.

I miss the good old days of Brooklyn. Slime like this would be found the next day in some alley, and the three groups protecting the area would just look at each other and smile. Between the Italian Mafia (Murder, Inc), the Irish police, and the Jewish vigilantes, we had very little street crime.
