A Chandler couple accused of child neglect for allegedly keeping their severely disabled 8-year-old son locked in a bathroom has pleaded not guilty.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 35-year-old Vu Quang Tran and 34-year-old Siobhan Grogan entered their plea Wednesday. Their next scheduled court date is Dec. 6.

Tran and Grogan were arrested earlier this month. A maintenance man found the boy after the child used clothes to clog the toilet and flood the bath.

The couple was taken into custody after coming to the police station to bring the boy clothes and special food.

Police say the couple has a healthy 5-year-old daughter. They told police they regularly left the boy alone so they could lead a normal life. The boy has been turned over to state Child Protective Services.

The police should lock them in a cell and leave them alone so they can "lead a normal life" like the one they proposed for this poor child.
