Authorities say two men suspected in a violent home invasion on a county island in Mesa are now in custody.

Officials say Jesus Andrade and Joshua Romero are accused of forcing their way into an elderly couple's home and stealing several items.

They say Romero had painted his face red and allegedly was the first suspect to enter the home.

Authorities say Andrade then entered the house and allegedly helped zip-tie an 81-year-old man and his 78-year-old wife. Then the suspects fled the scene after stealing a cellphone, cash and other items.

According to reports, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was able to track down the pair by tracing a number one of the men allegedly called from the stolen cellphone.

It was unclear Thursday whether either Romero or Andrade had lawyers yet.

Does one assume these fine pillars of our community were just "looking for a better life"? Maybe the ACLU can fight for their cause because their "civil rights" were violated in some way, manner, or form.

Hope your "civil rights" never get violated, k3 (and chances are good that they will, considering your level of intelligence). When they do, don't call the ACLU.

Considering *their* level of intelligence, as demonstrated by one of them making a call from the "allegedly" stolen cell phone, I don't think the ACLU is allowed to intervene if the IQ of at least one of the perps is below 4.

It's too bad these dirtbags weren't blasted with a 12 gauge.
