ASU student attacked in Tempe parking garage

Arizona State University police said a student was attacked while getting into her car on the third level of a busy parking garage on Sunday.

According to police, the attacker tried to push the woman inside her car.

When she fought back, the suspect pushed her to the ground and ran off with her purse.

The woman suffered a bloody nose and cuts to her leg from the attack.

The robbery happened inside the Rural Road parking structure on Rural Road near Apache Blvd. around 4:20 p.m.

According to a crime alert issued by ASU police, the suspect is a white male, early 20's, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 180 pounds with brown shaggy/messy hair and a pointed jaw line.

He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with horizontal stripes, blue jeans and was wearing black "winter" gloves.
