Gilbert police arrested two men and a 17-year-old female early Thursday morning in connection with a report of vehicle burglaries.
Police were called to the 3000 block of East Indigo Bay Drive after a witness reported seeing two teens running from the area and a white Toyota Camry leaving the area.
Mesa resident Joshua Thomas Sumpter, 20, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property and injuring/preventing the operation of a vehicle. Chandler resident Jacob Ray Vonpein, 19, was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary and possession of stolen property.
The 17-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary.
Gilbert police have property from multiple vehicle burglaries, but have not yet identified all the victims. According to police, the suspects were first observed burglarizing a vehicle in the area of Val Vista Drive and Queen Creek Road. But police believe there may have been five to 15 vehicles burglarized in the southern half of Gilbert.
If your vehicle was burglarized Wednesday night, call the Gilbert Police Department at (480) 503-6500 to report the crime.
Police also encourage homeowners to park their vehicles in their garages. If that is not possible, they remind drivers to lock vehicles to avoid being victimized.
