A Chandler man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in the East Valley on Thursday morning.
John Steven Laufer, 59, died at the scene of the crash shortly after Anthony Riddle Jr., 19, of Tempe, attempted to pass Laufer on the entrance ramp connecting the San Tan Loop 202 to Loop 101, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Riddle lost control of his car and struck Laufer’s pickup, causing it to roll over before Riddle’s car crashed into a wall along the freeway, according to DPS.
Traffic was restricted Thursday morning while authorities investigated the crash.
