The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says 11 people have been arrested in an operation targeting false identifications used to gain employment.

Sheriff's officials say three locations of the America's Taco Shop were targeted Thursday afternoon.

Two of the restaurants are in Phoenix and the other in Tempe.

MCSO says the restaurant chain has been under investigation for more than a year.

Investigators say 16 workers were identified as using false identities and Social Security numbers.

Four of the 11 arrested Thursday were booked into jail on suspicion of identity theft and forgery.

Sheriff's officials say the other seven arrested were turned over to federal immigration authorities for "border violations issues."

MCSO says it was their 72nd workplace identity theft operation.

And even though it's a FELONY to use another's ID info, POTUS Obama will give these CRIMINALS from a FOREIGN COUNTRY a pass! I guess he keeps forgetting he's suppose to serve AMERICAN citizens.

Why is it they never bust the owners of the businesses that hire these illegals? If the MSCO is serious about enforcing the law why haven't they utilized the employer sanctions part of SB1070 that has been upheld by the Supreme Court? They should work their way up the chain like they do with drug busts. Go after the "dealers". If they start showing the owners of these businesses doing the perp walk in cuffs the with the illegals, then prosecute them, fine them, take their business licence, and jail them if it continues this problem would go away quickly.

bubba, you ask why they never bust the businessmen that hire the illegals?

    Because they are usually Republicans.

These invading illegal aliens take jobs away from American teenagers who used to be able to do these jobs as their first work experiences.

These days American teenagers find it very difficult, if not impossible, to get work in the fast food franchises.

Although things have gotten a bit better since Arpaio began enforcing the immigration laws.

10 years ago or less, when I went into a fast food place it was virtually necessary to speak spanish. The only English most of the workers understood was to say " #3 and large Coke ".

Since Arpaio I actually hear English being spoken behind the counter --- most of the time. But I'm sure that isn't the case in other parts of town as evidenced by this raid.

Actually, MCSO DOES report it's findings to the MC DA. It's up to THAT OFFICE to press charges, NOT MCSO. Also, they have to have "proof", which is usually harder than proving if someone's an ILLEGAL ALIEN.

Bubba, you blame MCSO for something that they have no control over.

AZ Willie: Too true. I only frequent those businesses where ENGLISH is the primary language spoken.

Masterrogue666...You're right, proving that an employer has "knowingly" hired an illegal alien makes this aspect of SB1070 impotent. The inclusion of the word "knowingly" was the fault of the authors of SB1070, and intentionaly included as to protect these employers. If they included the word "knowingly" into every law none would be enforceable. "Gee officer, I didn't know I was driving 95 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. Now it's up tp you to prove that I did know"

You can believe that had the authors of SB1070 left out the word "knowingly", the great "Job Creators" would have shot it down faster than you can say "No hablan Inglés".

bubba: You missed one IMPORTANT point. If an employer is given the ID REQUIRED, and said employer VERIFIED said info, than it's NOT THE FAULT of the business, but the system designed to filter out the CRIMINALS.

I think that anyone that has an SSN, and is drawing TWO paychecks needs to be checked out. One is probably the LEGAL person, the second may not be. Yes, some people do have more than one job. However, it's easy enough to check hours worked, et al against the other job.
