Tempe police have again called off the search Friday evening for missing Arizona State University student Jack Culolias.

Police confirmed at a Friday news conference that a shoe found near Tempe Marketplace belonged to the 19-year-old ASU freshman.

The search was back on early Friday morning after a "concerned resident" called them with a tip.

Spokesman Michael Pooley with Tempe police told ABC15 around 7:30 a.m. Friday that detectives and search crews returned to the Tempe Marketplace area to continue the search for 19-year-old Culolias.

Pooley said the "concerned resident" called police Thursday evening with a tip that the person had seen an object, resembling a person's silhouette, in the water northeast of the area that crews had searched for three days.

"We are determined to find Jack Colulias and will continue our efforts in searching every area we feel may lead to more information in Jack's disappearance," Pooley said.

Police announced Thursday afternoon that police called off the search after spending days in the area from the McClintock bridge to around Dobson Road.

Culolias was last seen on Nov. 30 when he was reportedly asked to leave the Cadillac Ranch restaurant at Tempe Marketplace.

Anyone with any information regarding Culolias is encouraged to contact Tempe police by calling 480-350-8311, or you can submit a tip anonymously online on Tempe.gov.

@Juggernaut8000 I would hate to be related to some one like you considering your lack of compassion and indifference toward another human being, but that is pretty typical of hard right wing "me, me, me" conservatives like yourself. Not surprised.

Look everyone is entitled to their feelings of thi situation, but out of respect to the situation, you could be a little more easy up on the remarks especially the one Juggernaut8000 wrote. First off i know Jack's mother very well, She is a very nice and loving responsible caring peson and mothe and this is far from normal whats going on. Before you make any claims about her and her reaction if something like that were to come about, just sit back and put yourself in her shoes for one minute. I bet none of you would dare to even want to go there if your love ones were missing and you had to be placed in ths unfortunate situation. So seriously please keep rude comments on things that dont matter or has not happened yet and pay his mother some respect here. People like you that dont need to add salt to anyone wounds during this difficult time of need for Grace and her family. You all would be wanting any of this snotty like remarks or attention if anything were to happen to you like this nature. So grow up and be respectful and keep your rude remarks to yourself. Their family doesnt need to be seeing this at all especially ones who probably dont have a clue who they are personally. Be a human and have some feelings here.

After they find the body, I can't wait to hear the BS claim the family will make blaming anyone but their little angel.

Absolutely right, Bingo. I've lived in Tempe 25 years. It took a serious turn for the worse when Crow took over. Too large and out of control. Too much emphasis on empire building.

A few years ago I knew some people living in a neighborhood where the a few ASU wrestlers rented a house. "Terrorize" was the appropriate word. Extremely rude, insensitive and threatening behavior. No respect for families living nearby. Vomiting in the yard. Taunting neighbors from the roof.

Disgraceful. Crow and coach Ortiz were extremely unresponsive. The reasoning went: sports is ASU's bread and butter. These guys, however juvenile and unfit they are for the real world, bring in the money. Hugely popular with alumni.

It was no surprise when, 5-8 years later, ASU's wrestling team was back in the news after assaulting a fat wimpy kid during a testosterone-filled "underwear run."

If these so-called college students were living in south Phoenix they would be locked away in some abysmal cell somewhere, justice served.

Instead, these little rich kids, will get away with their crimes on there daddy,s money and ASU 'S, irresponsible attitude towards these idiots.

You can bet the bank on it that as long as the tuition money and alumini contributions keep coming these criminals will be free to terrorize the citizens of Tempe forever.

ASU holds its students to extremely low standards. There is no risk of expulsion for underage drinking or use of a fake ID. Students run a muck. Remember the wrestling team that beat up the fat kid during the "underwear run?"

It's like 6th grade. Just a matter of time for these things to happen.
