A man was arrested after he was caught on camera trying to get into an industrial yard containing a significant amount of copper in Mesa, according to police on Monday.
Police said private security personnel viewing video surveillance cameras saw Robert Moss trying to cut through a fence with a pair of bolt cutters at the property near Baseline Road and Mesa Drive just after midnight Saturday.
An air unit arrived at the scene and Moss reportedly fled on foot.
Moss was located after a short time by an officer. The bolt cutters and some wire cutters were discovered in a bush next to Moss, according to police.
Moss was booked for Attempted 3rd Degree Burglary and Possession of Burglary Tools.

I hope that interrogation of this guy and a review of the records of where he was reselling the copper he swiped will take down more criminals. It may also lead to better control of the scrap yards. These buyers are the ones fueling this rampage.

So, slopoked, are you saying that it's OK for a business and/or its employees to break the law just because times are hard? Does that make robbing a bank OK?

Something tells me that this guy wasn't stealing copper to buy a loaf of bread.
