Drug paraphernalia, weapons, a lack of clothing and an alligator.

All in a day’s work for the Tempe Police Department, apparently.

All tied to the same incident, Tempe police arrested two men, Albert Rosciano, 20, and Anthony Gannon, 18, Tuesday on suspicion of drug, weapon and burglary-related offenses, and another, Anthony Burton, 19, for possessing both illegal drugs and illegally owning a live two-foot Caiman alligator.

Rosciano and Anthony Gannon were arrested unclothed in the 4400 block of South Rural road, moments after a reported burglary took place at Burton’s apartment.

At about 3:20 p.m. Monday, police responded to a vehicle burglary in process call in the 1600 block of W. La Jolla.

According to police, Burton confronted Rosciano and Gannon in the parking lot with as they were breaking into his car. Police say Burton then forced them at gunpoint into his residence, where he told them to undress to make sure they did not have any additional stolen items.

Burton told Gammon and Rosciano to leave the apartment, according to police; they left in the vehicle they arrived in, and were stopped later by police, yet still undressed.

When officers made contact with Burton at his apartment, they discovered he was in possession of marijuana, several items of drug paraphernalia, and a live two-foot Caiman alligator. Burton admitted to possession of illegal drugs and the alligator, stating that he bought the reptile over the Internet from a Florida based company, police said.

All three of the men were booked into the Tempe city Jail.

The alligator later was turned over to the Arizona Herpetological Society, unharmed.
