One of two suspects in the fatal shooting of an Arizona State University honor student in 2010 has been sentenced to life in prison.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Karen O'Connor sentenced on Wednesday 21-year-old Louis Eugene Harper for the murder of 21-year-old Zachary Marco.
Harper pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Tempe police say Marco was shot as he was walking home in Oct. 2010. He later died at a Tempe hospital.
Police believe Marco was killed for his cell phone and laptop computer.
Detectives recovered Marco's computer bag and say they found fingerprints from Harper and another suspect, who's yet to be sentenced after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in February.
Harper is eligible for parole after serving 25 years.
