A 4-year-old boy drowned Tuesday in a pool at a Mesa home.
About 5:40 p.m., police were called to a home in the 2200 block of East Dartmouth Street, where they found the boy on the pool deck. His mother was next to the child, who was not breathing. Firefighters arrived later and took over lifesaving efforts.
The boy was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
