Red Cross volunteers were assisting three Mesa families Saturday night who were displaced by a fire on the city's west side.
The fire affected three units at an apartment complex on West Main Street near Alma School Road, according to a news release from the Grand Canyon Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Volunteers with the chapter's Disaster Action Team were ensuring the families would have a safe place to sleep, food, water, clothing and emotional support, the release said.
No other information about the fire was immediately available.
