Mesa police looking for teen runaway

Mesa police are looking for a 16-year-old girl who ran away from a group home Sunday.

According to reports, Sonia Rojas was last seen about 7:30 p.m. in a group home in the area of Meridian and Adobe roads. Sonia has been diagnosed with bipolar disporder, schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder. Police said she took her daily medications before she left, but has no money or cell phone with her.

Sonia is described as a Hispanic teen, was last seen wearing dark jeans, long sleeve black shirt, black sweater, and dark blue tennis shoes with green stripes. She was carrying carrying a dark blue Hannah Montana backpack with blue paper covering the Hannah Montana portion. No photo of her is available at this time.

Sonia is the third child missing from a group home this week. Police said two boys, 10-year-old Jairo Perez and 14-year-old Miguel Miranda, ran away from a Mesa group home they were placed in over the weekend. They were last seen in the area of Chandler and McQueen Roads, near their grandmother’s home.

    Just another juvenile delinquent who has run awway from the very place that may have helped her. What may be the actual problem is all the BS 'disorders' that she has been tagged with. Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder? What a slew of fabricated conditions...

    Maybe her "actual problem" is poor parenting, perhaps born to parents that didn't want a child, couldn't take care of a child, weren't involved in parenting her. With the situation exacerbated by those that want to limit access to birth control and birth control education and promote people having children they are not prepared to take care of.
