A man barricaded inside a Tempe apartment complex Tuesday has surrendered to police.
Police evacuated apartments near the Loop 101 and Broadway while SWAT teams attempted to negotiate with the burglary suspect barricaded inside one of the units.
Tempe police spokesman Michael Pooley said when police tried to approach the suspect, he ran into one of the apartments and refused to come out.
The man surrendered around 4 p.m. and is currently in police custody.
