Two adults were injured Wednesday in a head-on collision in Mesa.

According to Mesa police, the driver of a 1993 Nissan pickup truck failed to yield to an oncoming 2006 Dodge Durango while turning left from east-bound Guadalupe Road to northbound Ellsworth Road. The vehicles crashed head-on.

Police said the Nissan driver was at fault and is suspected of alcohol impairment. The Nissan driver was transported to a hospital for unknown injuries.

The Durango driver was taken to a hospital for a possible broken ankle and broken wrist. Her front-seat passenger, an adult male, was uninjured. Two children, ages 4 and 6, were transported to a hospital as a precaution. Neither child was in a child safety seat or booster, as required by law, police said.
