A Tempe family is asking for the safe return of an urn containing ashes taken during a June burglary.

Tempe police say someone entered a home, stole several items of value, including a wooden urn with gold trim that contained the ashes. The urn also has the name “Grant M. Dory” on it. A short time later, the victim’s credit cards were used approximately 30 times in Tempe and Mesa.

Police are trying to identify two men they say are persons of interest. The first is described as a white male, 45-55 years old, 5 feet 10 inchyes to six feet, 200 pounds, balding on top with long grey hair in the back and wearing a light colored T-shirt. The second is described as a white male, 30-35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10, 190 pounds, with dark hair and wearing a red shirt.

The vehicle involved in the incident is believed to be an early to mid-2000s white pick-up truck with an extended cab and a step side.
