Officials say one person suffered critical injuries after a two-car crash in Tempe early Thursday.

The accident happened at Baseline Road and McClintock Drive.

Police say there was one person in each vehicle and both were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition.

Video showed one vehicle resting against a block wall fence off the roadway. The other showed extensive damage nearby.

There was no immediate word on how the accident happened.

Police say southbound McClintock is closed between Ellis and Minton and northbound McClintock is closed just south of Ellis for about a block. There was no word on when the restrictions might be lifted.

Tempe is the only city in the valley where I see almost every car speeding. Such as on Southern Ave they are going 55 or 60 MPH in a 45 MPH zone. Tempe needs portable mid block speed cameras. Not trucks with big signs on them that say SPEED ENFORCEMENT with orange cones in the street.
