Tempe police have identified the body of the man discovered in Tempe Town Lake Monday as Christopher Robin Gonzales, 34.
The investigation into Gonzales’ death still is ongoing and his cause of death is unknown at this time.
Authorities say a passerby heard splashing at the lake and called 911 around 3 a.m.
When firefighters got to the scene they found someone in the water trying to find the person in the lake.
A firefighter pulled the body of Gonzales from the water and divers searched the water for any possessions belonging to him.
Witnesses told authorities the man was swimming.
