Police are investigating after a Valley woman left her 4-year-old child with a stranger at a Chandler park and then passed out in her car.
According to a police report, officers got a call from a man at the Desert Breeze Park in Chandler saying a woman had dropped off her child with him and then disappeared.
The man told police the woman told him she was going to look for her other child and would be back shortly. After she was gone for 45 minutes, the man went to look for her and found her passed out in her car.
The police report states Alison Stewart, 36, eventually woke up, put her 4-year-old in the back seat unrestrained and began driving around the parking lot.
When officers arrived, they pulled her over and started questioning her.
Officers noticed Stewart appeared to be intoxicated and took her to a drug recognition expert who confirmed she was impaired.
The officers placed her under arrest and took her to the Chandler Police Department.
Police said while they were inspecting her belongings, they found a glass meth pipe in her purse.
Stewart was booked into jail for felony DUI, child abuse, endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The police report did not state what happened to her child.
