The Chandler Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly stole at least 30 spare tires in a six-month span.

A press release from the department states 39-year-old Angel Pat Ortiz was booked into the Maricopa County Jail and faces charges on two counts of trafficking in stolen property and one count of theft for allegedly stealing spare tires mounted on the backs of vehicles in Mesa, Chandler and Gilbert since February. Officials believe Ortiz was involved in all 30 reported cases, many of which involved Jeep Libertys, Toyota Rav 4s, and Honda CRVs.

The department believes there are additional thefts beyond the 30 reported in the three municipalities and ask anyone who has had a tire stolen to come forward by calling (480) 782-4130 and reference police report number 13-67292.
